Part 1: Dew Dripping Dawn! :)

I've taken so many photos around our yard and property, on dew dripping mornings, that I've decided to share them in a two part post! I love living in the country in the great northwest, and hope, through my photos, you can enjoy it too! :)

Life's Gotten Easier With Coal! :)

Things have changed a lot since we first brought Coal home! It had been awhile since we'd had a puppy in our house, and we'd forgotten how much work it was, and how much sleep one loses at first! :)
We've been commenting to each other how much easier life is with him now! :)

Now there's a more mature expression, on his face, that we're seeing more and more! :)
We can't help but appreciate the fine effort of the breeders who have worked to bring about his best features! :)
At the same time, it's fun to see him wet or dirty, and enjoying being a dog! :)
A lot of work has gone into some dog food brands, too, and we love how Exclusive makes his coat shine! :)

Thankfully it doesn't last long! ... Yep! Life has gotten a lot easier with Coal! :)

Forging Fun! :)

Saturday the scouts came over to do some metal work, and had some forging fun! :)

They, and their leaders, had hands-on time taking turns pounding the metal! :)

I think the leaders had as much fun as the scouts did! :)

It became a team effort, as often one would brush the metal while another was pounding it! :)

Three potential knives in the forge! :)

The metal comes out bright hot, ...

but cools right before your eyes, which explains the saying "Strike while it's hot!" When the color fades, you can get a few more strikes in, and then it's back into the forge! :)

Rud enjoyed having the scouts company in the shop and seeing them taking an interrest in a hobby that he loves! :)

Since there wasn't enough time to finish the knives they've started, they have already planned a return activity to work on them again! We look forward to their return! :)

One of the Elders expressed some interrest when he heard how much fun they had, - so perhaps there will be another group visiting Rud in his shop, to enjoy a little forging fun! :)

Making Memorial Day Memories! :)

Rud and I got to spend Memorial Day making memories with our grandsons! :) Their mommy and daddy entrusted them to our care while they visited friends! What a treat it was for us! :) Since it was a nice day, Rud got out the hammock, and he and Brennan had some fun! :)

Even Coal was included in the party! :)

There was much fun to be had with the fancy, red race car that Brennan was thrilled to have from the cereal box! :)

Tegan woke from his nap just as Brennan gave in to sleep, so he enjoyed some time playing with his toys, and practising his crawling moves, on the carpet! :)

Then it was his turn to try out the hammock with Papa B.! :)

Tegan gave the day a thumbs up rating! We 2nd that notion! Nothing is quite so sweet as spending a day making memories with our grandkids!! :) How we dearly, dearly love them!! :)
