When this flower blooms, Summer is nearing the end. ...
I know this, but since other flowers are blooming, it's easy to forget! :)
Especially when some of the flowers are such happy summer bloomers! :)
The Cedar Waxwing are common in our yard this time of year, and tend to mate and call our yard home during the summer months! :)
The hummers can still be seen amongst the flowering Trumpet Vines! (See the whir of wings by the yellow blooms?). ... But there's a change happening. These hummers are Not our Rufous Hummers, but Anna's. Our Rufous have migrated south, and if one isn't paying close attention, it's easy to miss!
And what's That!? Is that red amongst the green leaves already? :)
It sure IS! :)
It's the vibrant Fall color that made me fall in love with this Virginia Creeper! :)
But it's not the only plant beginning to show Fall color! :)
The birch; ...
Ornamental cherry; ...
And other trees and bushes are showing leaf color, too! :)
There's also plant fruit adding Fall color to the yard, like rose hips; ...
The dangly ear rings of the snowdrop tree; ...
And the fruit of the Honey suckle! :)
The hummers still have some it's blooms available to them, too! :)
Even though we continue to have unusually hot Summer temps', there is a change happening! Summer is getting ready to pass the baton to Fall! It's happening so quietly and slyly, that it's sneaking up on us! Fall is only three short weeks away!
September has two faces! She's Summer one minute and Fall the next! Make no mistake about it! September Is Sly! :)
