Anniversary weekend! :)

Just wanted to let you know that this blog is going to be quiet throughout the weekend! :) Rud and I are going to the coast for our anniversary, and I probably won't even think of touching a computer while there!! :) I should be getting my new camera when we get back, and the blogging will begin again! :) I've a million things to do to get ready, so this is a quick note! :) By tomorrow I'll be enjoying the sights and sounds of the beach!! Hurray!! :)

Camera update! :)

Since my camera happened to be out of stock, it's taking longer than expected, and it's now due to arrive one week from today! :) I'm sure anxious to get it and see if it's as user friendly as it needs to be for an inexperienced photographer like myself!! :) ( grin ) Before this is all said and done, I hope to be both a good photographer, and a good blogger!! :)

The new Camera's been ordered! :)

Just thought I'd let you all know that I finally went in, on friday, and ordered a new cam'! :) It's supposed to arrive here "in two days"! :) I can hardly wait to get my hands on it and see what it can do! :) It has a fairly nice zoom lens, so I'm hopeful I can take some nice close ups with it! If I'm lucky, I may even get a few shots of our hummers'! :) Hopefully I'll be able to start adding photos to the posts soon! :)

A Prince on my pillow! :)

Last night, when I turned on the bedroom reading light, I discovered a Prince waiting on my pillow! :) At first I was so surprised that I wasn't sure if he was real!(?) Then he moved, and I was amazed!! :) ... But I'm a married woman!!! :) ... so I left him and opened the front door, came back and gently lifted him up, and showed him to the door! :) ... I watched as he sweetly hopped away, joining the chorus of voices that awaited him on this spring-like night! :) ... I dare say, ... he was adorable!! :)
There's a Mormon Add poster on the door of the bedroom our son slept in, in his youth, that shows a cute little tree frog wearing a crown! :) It states, " There aren't any frogs, just handsome princes who don't know who they are"! :) The frog in the poster is a lovely gold, while the prince on my pillow was sporting a dashing green ensemble! :)
So sorry little Prince, ... I'm already taken!! :)

In Honor of Spring! :)

Thanks to Susie's help, I was able to change our blog background, in honor of Spring! :) This friday will be the first official day of Spring! :) Now that the hummingbirds are back, it's feeling more like Spring! :) This morning we're having a break from the rain showers, and actually seeing the sunshine! :)
I'm anxious to buy a new digital camera so I can start adding photos again! :) There's so much I'd like to share! :) ...

Nothing but WET!! :)

The 10 day forcast is calling for rain/showers to continue each and every day! I'm listening to the sound of rain hitting all the outside services and finding it both cozy and annoying at the same time! :)
The garden soil is saturated right now! With all this "liquid sunshine" expected to continue, I know it's going to be awhile before I'll be doing any planting!
I am just happy it's not snow falling! :)
It's a good day to work on inside tasks! :)

Rud's coming home from Keeton's state games! :)

I thought I'd let you know that Rud's on his way home from WY! :) He attended our nephew's state basketball games, since it's Keeton's senior year, and his last opportunity to be at one of his games in person! :) They did well! :) They were regional champs, and took 2nd in state! :) They only missed 1st place by 3 points!! :) The end of the game was a real nail-biter!! :) The rest of our family listened to the games over the net! :)
Now I'm praying for Rud's saftey as he makes the long drive home! :) I spoke to him a moment ago, and he sounds tired but alert! :)
The ground is saturated with rain water, and the wind is blowing gustily today! If I disappear for a spell, it may mean a power outage has occurred! :) Have a great day everyone! :)

2nd sighting! :)

I'm thrilled to report that today I heard that wonderful, heartily missed, sound of a hummer!! :) I looked to the top branches of the ornamental cherry tree, and sure enough, saw the adorable body of a male Rufous perched on a top branch!! :) It won't be long now, and the hummingbirds will be back visiting our yards on a regular basis! :) Get your feeders out, everyone!! They're back!! :)

My birthday gift arrived today! :)

My birthday gift arrived today!! :) It's the ComposTumbler2, the newer tumbler that has 2 compartments for making continuous compost!! :) I can hardly wait to start making 'black gold' in my own yard, and hope to see great results in our yard and garden over the next many years!! :) Hurray!! :)

Cam' Woes! :)

Yesterday I saw my first male Rufous Hummingbird with his cute little red body, and shimmery red neck, for '09! :) He arrived right on time, the 10th, in spite of the snow, and added to my birthday! :)
When I turned on our camera to capture him and share the joy with all of you, the cam' malfunctioned! :( Even the men in my life can't figure out what's going on with it, and Rud says it's done this once before! Untill I can replace it, or figure out how to fix it, I'll be limited to words alone. That saddens me because a PICTURE is worth a Thousand words! :) And aren't photos such fun?! :) So please bare with me, untill we can cure our cam' woes! :)

Winter and Spring are battling it out! :)

This morning I took the digital camara out and snapped some pic's of proof that spring's on it's way! :) Today is the 2nd morning in-a-row of March snow, and it seems Winter and Spring are battling it out! Eventually Spring will win out! :) It can't come soon enough for me!! :) As soon as I have some more computer help, I hope to be posting some of these photos, so you can have a peek at Spring! :)

Snow and Daylight Saving Time! :)

We woke to snow this morning and daylight saving time! :) The snow is pretty, but I'm so ready for spring that I can't get excited about snow right now! :) I welcome Daylight Saving Time, as I prefer the light in the evenings, and once we set our clocks forward, it's only a matter of time untill spring is here!! :) Come on Spring!! :)

Since Brennan is the apple of my eye, I've decided to start this blog with a couple pics of him! :) I'll think of a trillian things to say later, but for now, this will have to do! :)
