Special Summer Blessings! :)

The corn was knee high by the 4th of July, thus time to hill up the rows! :)
I sprinkled organic fertilizer around the base of the stocks as corn is a heavy feeder and benefits from a boost of "food" this time of the season! :)
Then it's time to grab the hoe and hill up the rows, securely covering the roots! :)
The last step is to thoroughly water the leaves and stocks, washing off any fertilizer. The corn will have another boost of energy after this T.L.C. treatment, and this will see it through the rest of the season! :)
Can hardly wait for corn-on-the-cob this Fall! :)
Let's pass through the peas and beans and go look at the tomato plants! :)
They have now outgrown the tops of their cages and all 6 plants are full of green fruit! One Sun Gold Cherry Tomato has ripened and I picked it for my hubby! He enjoyed it's sweetness! In a few more weeks we'll have several ripening! Can hardly wait! :)
My little patch of flowers are getting ready to bloom! Then there will be lots of color! :)
As we walk back through the peas and beans you will notice how they have grown! :)
Both are flowering, and I already at the first snap pea! :)
I've been eating from the new strawberry patch! All I can say is "YUM"! I've decided to extend the row next year! :)
The cabbage is growing well, within the bean and pea area! :)
The lettuce has been less successful do to using older seed. I've now reseeded with new seed and see lettuce coming up at last! :)
The fennel survived the Winter and is impressing us with it's growth! We love it's licorice flavor and it's fun to eat the seed pods when passing by and to add them to tossed salads! :)
Soon this years flowers will begin to bloom and I will pull the volunteer flowers from last year. That will free up more space for walking! :)
Before you go I want to show you the new solar bird bath fountain I bought by catalog! :)
The birds now come to it more than any other bird bath, even though this bird bath has been here for a few years, now! :)
They love dipping their heads into the droplets as well as bathing in the water around the edges! :)
It has such a pleasing sound that I now want to order another fountain for the back yard! :)
The calming affect of the blue hydrangeas, ,,,
peeking through the dappled shade, ...
just adds to the peacefulness of the yard. :)
I hope you're all enjoying Summer and the special blessings it brings! :)
