There are workmen doing work at the end of our road, and if Coal's not on leash when we step outside, he makes a bee-line to them, checks out their work, and acts like he's a part of the crew! :) I quickly leash him and bring him home, but not before he's had many pats on the head from his friends! :)
If there are Kids around, he follows them in a Heartbeat!! He absolutely Loves children, to the point of making us feel almost guilty we don't have any little ones living in our home! :)
It's not that we ignore him! Quite the opposite! He gets his walks, new toys (as he quickly demolishes them), treats, and a lot of love and attention! :)

Apparently, it's not enough! ...
He followed kids on their bikes and ended up enjoying a sleep over! Since they had a dog and cats in their home, they didn't let him in, so he cried at their door until the mom put him in a crate in their garage where he spent the night! In the meantime, our family searched the neighborhood until midnight, and spent a restless night with little sleep, thinking he was dead, or hurt somewhere! :) The following morning we began talking to neighbors until we tracked him down! When we picked him up, he acted put out that he couldn't stay with the kids! ... Gee, Thanks Coal! :)
When we brought him home he passed out from exhaustion and slept most of the day away! :)
So there are some changes around here! If Coal isn't on leash, he's on cable! :)
If kids go by he can look but he can't follow! :)
That's what happens when you're a party animal!!! :)
